We provide complete degaussing services. Our equipment for degaussing hard drives and degaussing tapes is approved by the NSA for purging classified media. All of our services are offered on-site nationwide.

For customers requiring destruction of classified materials, we will first degauss your media then shred it. We have several degaussers, one of which is the HD-1T which is the NSA approved degausser for purging classified media. This two-step process of degaussing then shredding satisfies all DoD regulations and guidelines and the NIST 800-88 standards.

Our HD-1T degausser meets the DoD requirements for purging classified data on magnetic disk media up to 5000 Oersteds and magnetic tape media up to 2600 Oersteds. The HD-1T is listed on the NSA’s approved degausser list for degaussing discs and other classified media. Our HD-1T is annually re-certified by a third party to ensure full compliance.

Data Killers will issue a Certificate of Degauss which is nationally recognized. Data Killers shall keep copies on file for five (5) years.

For customers who are interested in re-using their DLT tape media, Data Killers offers a certified degaussing service in our monitored and controlled facility.
