Data Killers has been serving federal, state and local government agencies since its inception in 2005. We service government customers nationwide. We have trucks located across the country that provide on-site data destruction, including degaussing. Our magnetic tape destruction services and computer destruction services are in full compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
In March 2012, the GSA announced that only certified e-waste recyclers (R2 and eStewards) may handle end-of-life electronics from federal agencies. This means that hard drive disposal and shredding needs to be done by a certified recycler to be in compliance with the GSA, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Federal Management Regulation and Executive Order 13514. Hard drives have circuit boards which are a designated “focus material”. These focus materials are of particular concern because of the hazardous, toxic and rare-earth metals contained therein. “Focus materials” are the main reason for these new restrictions.
We are the leaders in classified hard drive destruction with our NSA-approved equipment and processes. We can handle both small and large orders and accept purchase cards for payment. We have a secure shipment option for small quantities of media.
Data Killers, a trade name of Turtle Wings, Inc., holds GSA contracts for both certified data destruction and electronics recycling. The schedule numbers are GS-25F0019T and GS-10F0134V. We also have several BPAs and teaming agreements.
