One recent project consisted of on-site hard drive shredding in Baltimore for a nationwide financial services and investment firm headquartered in the Charm City. In this one day project, Data Killers technicians shredded a combination of hard drives, optical disks, mobile phones and personal digital assistants. With our state-of-the-art four shaft mobile shredders, we pulled up to our customer’s loading dock to complete the hard drive and media shred while they witnessed. Prior to shredding their media, Data Killers technicians scanned and captured the serial numbers from all of the media. This helps our customer account for their media and provides complete asset management. In addition to scanning the media, our customer’s mobile phones and PDA’s required our technicians to remove their batteries prior to destruction. The batteries are removed in order to obtain the media’s serial numbers and because we don’t shred batteries as they contain materials like lead that must be treated correctly here in the U.S. All batteries and resulting particles from the shred were recycled in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations. Data Killers destroys hard drives in Baltimore and nationwide. We are the most trusted and reliable data destruction and environmental services company.
