The saying that everything is bigger in Texas likely originated as a reference to the enormity of the state’s geographical area. In terms of square miles, Texas is second only to Alaska in size, and it is the largest of the contiguous 48 states. Texas is so large that it has more than twice as many square miles as all 10 of the smallest American states combined. Interstate 10, Texas’s major east-west corridor, runs almost a third of the length of the nation and takes more than 14 hours to cross. The engulfing size of Texas also means that there is room for certified data destruction services from a nationwide provider like Data Killers. Recently, our trucks and technicians were dispatched to Texas to destroy hard drives.
The on-site data destruction in Dallas was for a long term, repeat customer that Data Killers services at the company’s locations throughout the United States. Although this was our first time servicing the location in Texas, our technicians were already familiar with the company’s data destruction protocols. In this one day project, Data Killers technicians shredded approximately 1,000 hard drives on-site at the customer’s facility in Dallas. Prior to the destruction, Data Killers technicians scanned and captured each hard drive serial number which provides our customer with complete audit trail.
After the job in Dallas, our trucks and technicians were dispatched to a remote area in Texas to complete on-site classified hard drive destruction. Our trucks are fully equipped with state-of-the-art, patent protected hard drive shredders, NSA approved degaussers and high-power generators to power our equipment. This on-site degaussing and shredding of hard drives means that the media was fully destroyed per NSA specifications before leaving the customer’s facility. In addition to standard hard drives, the customer also had solid state hard drives which required disintegration as the appropriate data destruction protocol. Data Killers goes above and beyond to provide our customers with exceptional hard drive destruction services. The saying that everything is bigger in Texas is not a problem for Data Killers because we strive to make the on-site hard drive shredding process convenient for all customers throughout the country.
